Jacques Fath Introduces ‘La Joie De Vivre’ For Spring/Summer 2012

An Ode to the Joy of Life, the sun, fantasy and eternal youth… This is Jacques Fath. This is the inspiration for the luscious palate of sorbet colors and intriguing styles for Spring/Summer 2012. The latest addition to Jacques Fath’s classic collection is a generous bag for all life’s necessities with a fantastic clutch attached on the outside by an interior belt that can be removed, thus giving you 3 options with one bag. Jacques Fath will become both a luxury and a staple in every woman’s closet adding instant glamour to any wardrobe.

Jacques Fath established The House of Fath in Paris in 1937.  He is widely considered one of the 3 most influential postwar French fashion designers along with his contemporaries, Christian Dior and Pierre Balmain.   Fath’s eccentric personality, taste for decadence, and attention to detail had him branded the “Little Prince of Paris Haute Couture”.   Fath is often credited with bringing French prêt-a-porter to America while dressing top celebrities of his time, such as Greta Garbo, Ava Gardner and Rita Hayworth.  The House of Fath closed in 1957 following the couturier’s untimely death.

Today, after more than 50 years, the innovative designs of Jacques Fath are breathing new life under the direction of Head Accessory Designer, Laurence Dumenil.   A stunning collection of handbags and clutches has made its debut in the American market.  Dumenil has updated the vintage Fath aesthetic with her edgy, modern and fresh approach to details.  Handmade in a family-owned factory in Angers, France the collection features rich embossed leathers; lizard, python & alligator skins; wooden closures and jeweled clasps.

Spring/Summer 2012 continues to bring luxury and sophistication with the richest of leathers, yet remains true to Jacques Fath’s roots of creating designs that are imaginative and enchanting. A new generation of fashionable celebrities has discovered the alluring designs of Jacques Fath.  Sienna Miller was recently spotted carrying the Fidelity clutch to the British Fashion Awards in London.
