Wicce
Wicce´s designer Arzu Tamturk studied Business Administration at Marmara University in her hometown Istanbul. Upon graduation she moved to live to London and later went back to Turkey to start working on the family textile company, which produces knitwear for international fashion brands. After working there for two years, Arzu decided to study a Master in Business Design in Milan at Domus Academy. Following these studies she focused her energies on launching her own fashion brand, but when she realized that nobody could perfectly interpret her vision, she decided to design it herself.
The contrasting juxtaposition of growing up in an Eastern culture in a very modern family adds a interesting element to Arzu´s sense of style, furthered by the designer’s experience of living aboard, traveling worldwide and having many international friends. Her approach to different cultures and lifestyles had clearly affected her vision and creativity.
Arzu finds inspiration in whatever creates positive emotion in her, about which she says, “The important thing to be inspired is to get excited about something.”
Arzu has being able to maintain the consistency and coherence in Wicce´s concept by listening to her clients and creating a mood of chic comfort that has come to embody the Wicce aesthetic. Wicce´s designs are never limited to trends, rather aim to encompass the philosophy of the brand – low-key but dashing, effortless but always with a romantic, feminine air, fluid silhouettes and whimsical detailing.
